Audio Book A Short History of Film, Third Edition with Free MOBI EDITION!

A vacuous, lazy attempt at a history of world cinema. It reads like a gossip mag, skimming quickly through a hand-selected who's who of directors, paying more attention to their politics and immutable characteristics than their contributions to film. Instead of tracking the evolution of cinema as an art form, it seems obsessed with casting film as a representation of contemporary zeitgeist, caring more about the sociopolitical trend de jure than the techniques and styles that were evolving. A waste of paper. Any instructor who assigns you this book is either not qualified or phoning it in: find someone better.
