This is an intermediate-level PLO book, focused on balanced play. The 5-star review is based on the book's effectiveness when targeting intermediate concepts. Having said that, the first few chapters lay a foundation for how poker players should think about PLO strategy (for example, realizing equity vs. value). As such, players of all levels will benefit from this book, even if they get lost in the more advanced breakdowns about "balanced play".I have two complaints, even though I have given a 5-star review. First, this book focuses entirely on 6-max play. Obviously, this is a problem when many of us are playing in 9-max live games. Second, this book gives only a theoretical foundation for preflop hands. Comparing preflop hands qualitatively (e.g. visibility vs. nuttiness) is excellent and sorely missing from other PLO books, but there should be SOMETHING describing a typical UTG open, not just a passing comment that it's maybe 12-16%. By setting some defaults for "typical" ranges, it would also make it easier to understand the assumptions being made in the hand-by-hand analysis in the second half of the book.In summary, it's still the best PLO strategy book I've read, but I haven't found the defining guide that I would re-read until the cover fell off.
